The 3 Best Exercises to do in the Warmer Weather

It’s April, and it seems like here in the UK, we’ve skipped straight from Winter to Summer. With the recent sunny weather being labelled as the hottest in April for 70 years, many of us will be looking forward to a weekend of relaxation.

If you’re feeling sporty, you may be against the idea of going to your usual gym class whilst you could be making the most of the weather. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to cancel your workout! Here are 3 of the best exercises to do in the warmer weather.

Go for a jog

Whilst temperatures of over 20 degrees can leave us feeling hot, sweaty and uncomfortable to exercise in, running in the heat can actually increase fat loss.

Working out in hot temperature burns more fat – and calories – because your body has to work harder to cool itself. Your body releases heat through sweat, which comes from blood pumped to your skin. The hotter your body gets, the more blood your heart needs to pump to expel that heat.

So this weekend, why not go for a jog in your local park? Just remember to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, and protect your skin with sunscreen.

Take part in yoga

Yoga is an immensely popular exercise for improving posture, retuning balance, and increasing flexibility. What’s more, many believe that regularly taking part in yoga sessions increases self-confidence, by creating harmony between the mind and the body.

Sunlight increases serotonin levels which in turn may make us happier, therefore a yoga session in the park or your garden by yourself, with friends or colleagues will make you feel amazing.

Cycle

This exercise works great if you’re spending time with family, and are looking for a fun workout for everyone to get involved in.

Cycling is mainly an aerobic activity, which means that your heart, blood vessels and lungs all get a workout. You will experience increased cardiovascular fitness, which will improve your overall health.

Visit your local cycle path for maximum enjoyment, and remember to cover up in sunny weather and wear sunglasses for better visibility.
